What’s known to be wrong

Tap targets under 24 pixels. WCAG 2.2 asks for 24×24 as a minimum. The “Log in” link in the header, every link in the footer, the “Show” button that reveals your password when you register, and “Forgot your password?” on the sign-in screen are all about 20 pixels tall. Fine with a mouse, fiddly with a thumb, on a site most people open on a phone.

Charts that don’t announce themselves. Four screens draw a chart of your own recovery data, and not one of them hides the drawing from a screen reader — and the chart library makes it focusable, so you can land on it with the keyboard and be told nothing. The facts are in the words beside each chart; the drawing shouldn’t be a stop on the way.

Most of the product hasn’t been checked. No gatherings have been hosted yet, so event pages, lists, messaging and everything behind sign-in rendered empty or couldn’t be reached. Eleven public pages were checked. That is not most of SoberOut, and it would be misleading to let the rest of this page imply otherwise.

All three are scoped for repair. No date on them, because a date given now would be a guess you’d have no way to hold.

Every text colour passes AA against both backgrounds. The lightest one, used for timestamps and small print, clears it at 4.64 against a required 4.5 — a thin margin, and worth saying so: a small change to either colour would end it.

axe-core found no WCAG 2.0, 2.1 or 2.2 AA violations on any of the eleven pages, at desktop and phone widths. Automated checks catch perhaps a third of what matters, so that is a floor, not a verdict.

The first thing the keyboard reaches on every page is a link straight to the content, and it moves focus rather than only scrolling. Where there’s a chart, the same information is in a sentence next to it.

Email support@soberout.social with what you were trying to do and what stopped you. You don’t need to know the name of the problem. “I couldn’t do this” is a complete report.

First reply within two days. If a fix will take longer, you’ll be told another way to do the thing meanwhile. Accessibility reports go to the front of the queue.

It won’t claim conformance SoberOut hasn’t reached. If it ever says the site meets WCAG 2.2 AA, that will be because an audit said so, and the date will be printed here. It also won’t list fixed faults to look thorough: an earlier draft named a contrast failure the site no longer has, and it was cut once measured.
